OLD SITH EMPIRE
Darth Andeddu, the Immortal God-King of Prakith
The story of Darth Andeddu is one shrouded in mystery, filled with contradictions and vagueness -- something which the ancient Dark Lord would doubtlessly prefer.
Most records indicated that Andeddu hailed from the Deep Core world of Prakith. As the ancient Sith Empire did not expand beyond its borders in the Esstran sector until after the Great Hyperspace War, this led to the theory that Andeddu was among the Dark Jedi Exiles that settled on Korriban and conquered the Sith race, declaring himself Dark Lord during the chaos that ensued following Ajunta Pall's death.
However, another account from the ancient Sith Darth Trayus pertained that Andeddu was a student of his five hundred years after the time of the Exiles, passing onto him the knowledge of essence transfer and the title of Darth, both things that Andeddu was generally attributed to be the originator of.
Of course, like all Sith, Trayus had a knack for blurring the line between truths and falsehoods. While Andeddu was indeed at one point Trayus' apprentice, it was not in the way many would believe to be the case....
Ortan Cela was a human male from Prakith who studied in the ways of the Force in the Jedi Order, becoming apprenticed to the Jedi Guardian Tulak Hord. During the Hundred Year Darkness, both Cela and his master joined the Dark Jedi Exiles and fought against their Jedi brothers. Upon being defeated at Corbos, the Exiles retreated to Korriban, where Ajunta Pall slayed the Sith King and declared himself Dark Lord.
After Ajunta Pall's death, Tulak Hord was quick to ascend to the throne. With Ortan Cela as his Shadow Hand, Hord decided to take a page from his fellow Exile Remulus Dreypa's book and led a campaign beyond the Stygian Caldera, conquering worlds for the Sith Empire.
During this time, Ortan Cela expanded his knowledge and became particularly interested in the practice of preserving one's essence after death, something which Hord's peer Karness Muur was also invested in. As his thirst for knowledge grew, so too did his ambition. When the time came, Cela turned against his master and stabbed Tulak Hord in the back, killing him.
With Hord's death, the other Dark Lords tore each other apart. Ortan's plan was to claim the mantle for himself once Muur, XoXaan, and the others had been done in by their own machinations. Before his scheme could come to fruition however, Ortan was betrayed in turn and struck down by one of his followers.
Rather than perish however, Ortan Cela was able to preserve his life with the use of dark transfer, a trick he had pulled from Karness Muur's hat. Retreating from the public eye, Cela was able to keep himself alive for the next several centuries as he poured all of his focus into learning how to cheat death.
By 6500 BBY, the Sith Empire had long since entered its Golden Age and were now ruled by a dynasty of Pureblood Sith, with the humans that had once been their rulers now serving as slaves. Realizing he needed a pawn in order to reclaim his status in a world ruled by Sith, Ortan Cela found a potential asset in the form of Rakar Val, an abused outcast even among his own people.
Working behind the scenes, Ortan used the Sith Lord Norak Vor to retrieve Rakar and elevate him to a rank of high status. After Norak became Dark Lord, he sent Rakar to find the means for immortality. Unbeknownst to him, Ortan had since sought out Rakar himself, posing as a wily old man, and convinced Rakar to bring him along.
Together they traveled to Lehon, where the Rakata taught them what they knew and bestowed onto them both the title of darth, loosely translated as "Emperor of Death" or, alternatively, "Emperor over death". Returning to Korriban, Rakar and Ortan overthrew Norak Vor and took on their new names, Trayus and Andeddu respectively. While Darth Trayus was named Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Andeddu served as his Shadow Hand, content with waiting for the right moment to strike.
Over the next ninety years, Darth Andeddu kept himself alive with dark transfer and artifacts left behind by Sorzus Syn. Behind Trayus' back, he studied the armor the Rakata had given him and eventually devised the means to not only preserve his essence but to transfer it to another vessel. Once he had learned everything he needed to, he betrayed Darth Trayus -- just as he had Tulak Hord centuries before -- and trapped his essence within a crystal prison. At last, after five hundred years, Darth Andeddu had become the Dark Lord of the Sith.
His reign was not to last however. As his power grew, so too did his paranoia, fearing that his subordinates coveted the secret power he had concocted. When he refused to pass on his knowledge, the Sith Lords banded together and overthrew him. Fleeing from Korriban, Andeddu retreated to his homeworld of Prakith, where he raised a cult loyal to him and ruled as the Immortal God-King.
Still wrought with paranoia, Andeddu eventually entombed himself with recordings of all his knowledge and sealed himself away for the next several thousand years.
Ending up in the Stygian Caldera, the Dark Jedi came across the planet Korriban and conquered the native Sith people after slaying their king. Hailed as Dark Lords of the Sith, Aloysius and his cohorts laid the foundation of what would become the Sith Empire.
Against the wishes of Ajunta Pall, a number of Sith Lords -- including Tulak Hord and Baron Remulus Dreypa -- departed from the Stygian Caldera in the hopes of getting their revenge on the Jedi. While Dreypa's forces vanished into Wild Space, Hord proceeded to lead a successful campaign, conquering worlds such as Yn and Chabosh.
As Aloysius had not been one of the twelve Dark Jedi leaders that became the first Lords of the Sith, he saw an opportunity to climb the chain of command and offered to serve as Hord's general. The Lord of Hate refused him but eventually acquiesced when Kallig slayed one of his lieutenants.
While Aloysius led to a number of victories for Hord's forces, the Dark Lord grew wary of his influence and came to feel challenged by Lord Kallig. As such, he had Aloysius assassinated and drove his family into hiding. For the next several thousand years, the name Kallig was forgotten while Tulak Hord and subsequent Sith Lords were forever immortalized.
Over the many millennia, the House of Kallig lost the wealth it once had and fell into poverty. By the time of the Great Galactic War, the name meant nothing to the slave owners that had since taken over the Kalligs' holdings and its last few members were forced into slavery. By 3643 BBY, Arthron Kallig was the last living descendant of Aloysius Kallig.
At the age of twenty-one, Arthron was purchased from his master by the resurgent Sith Empire, who were in the search for students. Beginning his training on Korriban, Arthron soon became the apprentice of Lord Zash and was set on the path of a Sith Inquisitor.
Over the course of three years, he developed a rivalry with Darth Thanaton, who eventually declared a Kaggath against Arthron. Having since discovered his heritage and communed with the spirit of his ancestor Aloysius, Arthron sought to restore honor to the Kallig bloodline and successfully defeated Thanaton before the Dark Council. In return, Arthron was appointed to the Council and renamed Darth Imperius.

The Legacy of Kallig
Born into a family of wealth, Aloysius Kallig was a respected Knight of the Jedi Order during the Hundred-Year Darkness. In time however, Aloysius fell under the sway of Ajunta Pall and joined the Dark Jedi forces in the latter years of the war. After the Battle of Corbos, the Dark Jedi was exiled into the farthest reaches of the galaxy. The Legacy of Kallig

Darth Vitus
Born in the twilight years of the Sith's Golden Age, Vitus had always had an interest in Sith alchemy. In particular, he was interested in achieving immortality and thus perused the teachings of Karness Muur and Darth Andeddu at great length.
During the Great Hyperspace War, Vitus avoided joining in the conflict and instead traveled to Prakith, seeking out the tomb of Darth Andeddu. Impressed by Vitus' determination, Andeddu decided to humor the young Sith and imparted some of his knowledge to put Vitus on the right path. Among the items he allowed Vitus to leave Prakith with was the enchanted armor of Valtheran, which had been worn by Andeddu's master Darth Trayus many centuries ago.
When Vitus returned to the Sith, the Empire had been defeated by the Republic. Falling in with Lord Vitiate, Vitus retreated to Dromund Kaas, where the Sith set about rebuilding their order. Upon learning of Vitus' possession of the armor of Valtheran, Vitiate elevated Vitus to the rank of Darth and made him a member of his Dark Council, putting him in charge of the Sphere of Mysteries.
At the Sith Emperor's behest, Darth Vitus spent countless years studying the armor of Valtheran, as well as the staff that came with it. In time, he was able to unlock the staff's ability to raise an army of the dead. Relocating his studies to the moon of Oricon, Vitus proceeded to utilize this power with his Sith alchemy, creating fearsome dark side creatures that were nearly impossible to kill. He was also able to prolong his life for a number of centuries.
Growing weary of Vitus' experiments, the Sith Emperor had Darth Vitus removed from power. The Sith Lord's studies were later continued by Darth Drear, who eventually developed an elxir derived from the staff's power that could transform its victims into zombies. The armor itself was left forgotten until several millennia after Vitus' death, when his abandoned lab was visited by Darth Vorath, who acquired the armor and staff of Valtheran after defeating Vitus' creations.
