CALM BEFORE THE STORM, PART 2: LEGACY
(Optimus Prime is driving around and monologuing to himself)
OPTIMUS PRIME: I cannot help but think about Megatron's words, on how he "evolved" from Archforce. I wonder, then, have I evolved from Orion Pax? Have I become an entirely different person? I suppose there is only one person who can answer that.

ORION PAX: Er, Alpha Trion?
ALPHA TRION: Yes, Orion?
ORION PAX: I was searching through the back of the archives and found this.
ALPHA TRION: What is it?
ORION PAX: The Covenant of Primus.
ALPHA TRION: Hm... Never thought I would see this again.
ORION PAX: You know what it is?
ALPHA TRION: It is a databook of ancient prophecies.
ORION PAX: Prophecies?
ALPHA TRION: Yes. Many of them were discovered during the Age of Nova Prime, and several more were made afterwards. This movement soon stopped however, especially when Sentinel Prime became our leader.
ORION PAX: Why?
ALPHA TRION: Because one of the prophecies revealed that there shall only be seven Primes. After the seventh dies, chaos will break out. And Sentinel is the seventh Prime. But very few now believe in the prophecy.
ORION PAX: Do you, sir?
ALPHA TRION: I... cannot say for certain. Only fate will decide....

OPTIMUS PRIME: Every day, I am reminded of Alpha Trion. He was always like a father figure to me, even after I joined the Academy. Every day, I remember him. Every day, I miss him. Every day, I wish he was still here. Every day, I wish to ask him, "Was the Seven Primes prophecy true?" Am I the Prime... that should have never existed?

HALOGEN: Sentinel Prime is believed dead. If we are to fight in this war, we must have a new leader to fight under. We have thus chosen Sentinel's right-hand, Ultra Magnus, to lead the Autobots.
ULTRA MAGNUS: Councilor Halogen... I... I can't. I'm just a soldier. I can't lead.
XAARON: We have seen your prowess in battle, Magnus. There is a person of leadership in you. If you have any doubts, your new right-hand, Optimus, can help advise you.
HALOGEN: Good luck, Ultra Magnus. War awaits.
(Later)
WARPATH: Optimus, we're getting pounded!
OPTIMUS: Keep fighting, Warpath! We have to protect Protihex!
WARPATH: Not sure if that'll be easy. We're losing bots, fast!
TREADSHOT: Give it up, Autobots! You are outnumbered! Surrender now and we may consider sparing your lives!
IRONHIDE: Not a chance, ya' Decepticreeps!
TREADSHOT: Very well then. Banzaitron?
(Banzaitron presses a button and an explosion sends the Autobots underground)
IRONHIDE: Ahhh! Oof!
WARPATH: Blam!
OPTIMUS: Ow!
VECTOR SIGMA: Orion.
OPTIMUS: Huh?
VECTOR SIGMA: Come to me, Orion Pax.
OPTIMUS: Who... who's there? Oh, Primus...
VECTOR SIGMA: Greetings, Orion Pax. I am Vector Sigma. Before Cybertron was, I was. I have calculated all possible futures. It is by fate that you are here.
OPTIMUS: What are you talking about?
VECTOR SIGMA: There is no time to explain. You are needed on the surface. But before I send you back, I shall bestow upon you the powers of the Matrix.
OPTIMUS: The Matrix? But according to history, it disappeared with Nova Prime!
VECTOR SIGMA: Not quite. It seems that you have much to learn. I suppose I shall spare the time to indulge you with what you need to know. (It hits Optimus with a beam of energy, showing him a vision of the past Primes) Alpha Prime... Sentinel Prime... Guardian Prime... Nova Prime... Zeta Prime... These are simply five of the seven Primes known to have lived. Each and every one of them carried the power of the Matrix. Although the container which held the Matrix was taken away by Nova Prime, its power lives on through me. Although the Matrix's power is limited, I can only recharge it seven times in the course of a million years. For now, you shall be the last to hold the Matrix's power for the next million years. Use the Matrix well... Optimus Prime.
OPTIMUS PRIME: Did you... did you just see--hear that?!
IRONHIDE: Hear what?
WARPATH: All I saw was you acting like crazy! Are you all right, Optimus?
OPTIMUS PRIME: I... I don't know, Warpath.
(Present)
OPTIMUS PRIME: Even now, I don't know. Was all of that just a dream? Am I really a Prime? Although I have since been dubbed such by the High Council and the other Autobots, I'm still uncertain that I'm a true leader. I've never told anyone of my encounter with Vector Sigma. Not even Ironhide or Ratchet.... They would not believe me.
RED ALERT: Good day, Optimus Prime. How are you? Prime?
OPTIMUS PRIME: I'm... I'm fine, Red Alert.
OMNICRON: Megatron, it has been decided by the High Council that you are to be executed. Do you have any last words?
MEGATRON: None.
OMNICRON: Very well then. Do you feel any remorse for your actions?
MEGATRON: No.
OMNICRON: Just what I thought. Autotroopers, fire at--
OPTIMUS PRIME: Stop!
OMNICRON: Optimus Prime?!
OPTIMUS PRIME: Before you execute him, let me say a few words.
OMNICRON: You wish to give this tyrant a eulogy?
OPTIMUS PRIME: No. This eulogy is not for Megatron... but for Archforce. More than a hundred years ago, Archforce was an Autobot in the Elite Guard. It was he who taught me in the Academy. It was he who taught me the values of peace and freedom. But most importantly... He was not just a mentor, but a friend. A brother. He was there to comfort me after Dion died. He helped me become the leader I am now. If there's anyone I'd thank the most, for everything... it would be him. But the person I knew is now gone. Archforce died long ago, only to be replaced by Megatron. That... is all.
OMNICRON: I... I don't know what to say.
MEGATRON: I do. Heads up.
(A large object crashes through the ceiling and seemingly crushes Megatron)
OPTIMUS PRIME: Megatron!
THUNDERWING: Now then... which one of you shall I destroy first?
