(At the Autobot base in Iacon, on Cybertron....)
Ultra Magnus: First Aid, how's Cerebros?
First Aid: He'll live. Was the battle a success?
Ultra Magnus: Yes, the Decepticons have retreated, but that... thing is still there.
Intercom: Autobase, this is Moonbase-2!
First Aid: Uh-oh....
Ultra Magnus: This is Ultra Magnus. What is it?
Autobot Officer: Uh... same thing with Moonbase-1....
(Yeah... Unicron is having seconds. Meanwhile, within the Chaos Bringer's body....)
Alpha Quintesson (to Hot Rod): We can stop this... if you join us.
(Suddenly, a voice speaks in Hot Rod's head)
Voice: Hot Rod... concentrate. Channel the Matrix.
Hot Rod (thinking): 'Channel the Matrix?' What does that-
Voice: Concentrate....
Alpha Quintesson: Well? What will it be?
(Blue light begins to surround Hot Rod)
Alpha Quintesson: What the-? What are you doing?! I demand you-!
(Unicron screams in agony)
Alpha Quintesson: What-?! You-you're causing Unicron pain!
(Unicron interrupts his meal, backing away from Moonbase-2)
Autobot Officer: It's... it's backing away!
(Galvatron arrives) Galvatron: My lord? What in the name of-?
(Suddenly, the STAR SABER appears in Hot Rod's hand!)
Galvatron: What's going on?!
Alpha Quintesson (in disbelief): Prima's... sword....
Hot Rod: I'll never join you!
Alpha Quintesson: Is that so? (Razorclaw hands him a staff) Thank you, Razorclaw. (He then uses it to teleport Hot Rod, Rapid Run, and the Wreckers away)
Galvatron: How did you do that?
Alpha Quintesson (Happy face): Magic! (Normal face) Now, proceed....
(The Autobots then crash land in Egypt on Earth)
Twin Twist? (to Hot Rod): At least we found you.
(Meanwhile, at Autobot City-)
Wheeljack: Optimus! Come quick!
Optimus Prime: What is it?
Wheeljack: A message from Teletraan-SP2.
Teletraan-SP2: Autobots in Egypt. Downloading coordinates to central command center.
Wheeljack: I think we've found Hot Rod!
Optimus Prime: Air Raid, Fireflight, head to Egypt!
Fireflight: Copy that, Prime!
(Back in Egypt, Hot Rod and co. arrive at the temple where Nova Prime's Harvester once was)
Rapid Run: Well, this is interesting....
Hot Rod: Yeah, Prime told me what happened here once.
(They enter the temple)
Hot Rod: Wow! This is amazing! (They arrive at the statues of the Thirteen) Who's that?
Springer: Optimus told me it's a statue of Prima, the past wielder of the sword you carry.
Hot Rod: The Star Saber?
Springer: Yes.
Hot Rod: Then... how come the sword came to me?
Rapid Run: Uh, guys?
Hot Rod: Yeah, Rapid Run?
(Oh, look... the Temple Guardians. Long time no see.)
Rapid Run: I don't think these guys want us here.
(Meanwhile, back on Cybertron...)
Ironfist: What are we going to do, Magnus?
Ultra Magnus: I don't know, Ironfist.
First Aid: Actually, I think I have something that can help.
Ironfist: What do you mean, doc?
First Aid: Well, you see, I've required Cerebros' programming to connect to Fortress Maximus....
(So, the Autobots go outside....)
First Aid: Cerebros, show them your new trick.
Cerebros: All right!
(He transforms into a head while the Elite Guard base converts into a body. They combine and wah-lah! FORTRESS MAXIMUS!)
Ultra Magnus: Whoa.
(Meanwhile, within Unicron-)
Galvatron: Why don't we attack Cybertron already?
Alpha Quintesson: Unicron is waiting for the exact and correct moment.
Galvatron: And what does that mean?
Alpha Quintesson: Come with me.
(He leads Galvatron to a chamber. Once inside, Galvatron's eyes widen.)
Alpha Quintesson (Happy face): Impressed? I know I am! (Normal face) This is Unicron's spark. It's been recovering energon for centuries. Now, it is almost filled. Soon, Unicron shall rule again!
(Galvatron is then contacted by the Red Eyes from a few issues ago.)
Red Eyes: Remember my words...
(Galvatron brings out the Key to Vector Sigma and walks up to Unicron's spark)
Alpha Quintesson (Angry face): What are you doing?! Nooo!
(Galvatron stabs the spark with the key, causing Unicron to roar in agony. Again.)
(Back on Earth, in Egypt)
Hot Rod (narrowly avoiding a Temple Guardian's attack): Whoa!
Roadbuster: Hot Rod, behind you!
(A Temple Guardian lashes out with an electric whip. Topspin flies in and destroys him while Twin Twist, in drill-tank mode, kills another. The other Wreckers begin slaughtering them all with Rapid Run taking down the last)
Rapid Run: Got 'em.
Hot Rod: Okay, that was weird.
Rapid Run: I think we should leave. This place gives me the creeps.
Springer: All right, let's roll out!
(Meanwhile, Soundblaster and Clench's crew exit hyperspace, having escaped from Unicron a few issues ago)
Clench (to Soundblaster): Where are we? Answer me!
Soundblaster: Just watch.
(They arrive at a familiar looking planet....)
Clench: But.. this is Cybertron! Weren't we already here?!
Soundblaster: Yes.. and no. This is Cybertron... but not ours. On this Cybertron, our race is extinct. A Cybertron where your war destroyed us! Because of you Decepticons! I am leaving you here so there will be a few less Decepticons to fight in this stupid war! Goodbye.
(He tosses Clench and his crew out of the airlock, ignoring Clench's screams and cruses. He then takes command of the Colossus and leaves for parts unknown....)
(Back within Unicron....)
Alpha Quintesson (Angry face): You fool! (He pushes Galvatron out of the way) Stop!
(Suddenly, Unicron's body begins to tremble. He then spits out Galvatron [seriously])
Unicron: Galvatron! You have... disappointed me. (His body begins to shift and morph) I offered you a new body, new soldiers... and you use them to betray me! Yet... I do have one final use for you. I actually considered sparing your wretched planet Cybertron. But now... you shall witness... its dismemberment.
Galvatron: No...
Unicron (now in robot mode): I... am Unicron. I am the Lord of Chaos, the Devourer of worlds. And Cybertron... shall be destroyed!
