Transformers Regenerated: Unicron Saga VII, Chapter Twelve

CHAPTER TWELVE
   "Are you serious?"

"As I'll ever be," Kup grunted as he spat out a loose screw from his mouth.

Impactor's expression was as hard as a rock. "You're sure?"

"Kid, we've scoured every inch of the base- Roadbuster even tore out a wall- and there's no sign of Mindset at all."

The Wrecker leader snarled and kicked up a cloud of dust. "Slag! All of this for nothing."

"Eh, I wouldn't call it a total loss," Kup said. "With Rossum, Scalpel, and Bombshock captured, we can grill 'em about whatever it was Thunderwing was doing here... and maybe find out where Mindset is."

Impactor grunted. "And if they don't talk?"

Kup smirked. "Leave it to me, kid. I'll get somethin' out of 'em."

"You know I hate it when you call me that," Impactor snapped. "I outrank you here."

"On the battlefield, maybe," Kup muttered as he headed back for the Xantium. "Experience wise, you've still got a ways to go."
*  *  *
"So, who here's staying with the Wreckers?"

Seated in the Xantium's lobby room with the other five recruits, Flareup immediately said, "I'm not. I mean, blowing stuff up may be my thing, but I don't think I'm cut out for the Wreckers."

"Me neither," Crosshairs said. "When I got the call, I envisioned myself parachuting down with guns ablaze. Now I can just see myself getting shot down in five seconds."

"You're saying that as if someone died," Scattorshot said. "Which, as far as I know, no one did. As for me, I'm staying."

"So am I," Bulkhead said. "I think I've finally found a job where breaking stuff is pretty much required."

"Good for you," Brainstorm said dryly. "I'm going back to Kimia. I miss my briefcase."

All eyes now turned to Seaspray, who had been silent ever since the battle ended. The white and blue Autobot sighed.

"My mind's telling me that I don't belong here, that I'm not cut out for this line of work like Flareup. But my spark's telling me something else... that I do belong here."

   "Why is that?" Crosshairs asked.

Seaspray shrugged. "Beats me. I guess it's kind of like why Bulkhead's staying: because I feel like I wouldn't be accepted anywhere else. Even the Hydrobots wouldn't accept my application."

"So you're staying then?" Flareup asked.

"I guess so, at least for the time being." He then smiled through his eyes. "And who knows? Maybe the Wreckers will be given a water mission one day."
*  *  *
"So three of them have bailed out and the other three are staying." Kup sighed as he put away his datapad. "Not exactly my best record."

"At least they're still alive," Springer said as he walked with the veteran to the bridge. "That's gotta be a first."

Kup snorted. "Yeah? How long til they go down?"

Springer didn't answer. He was fully aware that it was a rare miracle that the Wreckers did not suffer any casualties today.

As the two of them stepped onto the bridge, they found Topspin, Twin Twist, and Scoop preparing the Xantium for take off while Impactor stood in the center, staring at three holographic visages.

   "More recruits, Impactor?" Springer asked.

The Wrecker leader curtly nodded. "I heard about the news," he muttered. "Figured I might as well compensate for our 'losses.'"

   Kup smirked. "Anybody I'd recognize?"

"You tell me," Impactor said as he stepped away to give the veteran a clear view of the screen. To his mild surprise, the three visages were actually four. The one on the farthest left he recognized as the Heliobot Rotorstorm, and the two in the middle he was not familiar with. It was the fourth one on the right that gave him pause.

"That's not... who I think it is, is it?" he asked.

Impactor quickly shook his head. "No, don't worry. Similar face but totally different body type. Rung says he suffers from a disease called primus apotheosis. Nothing fatal, though."

Kup grunted as he observed the potential recruits' names. Rotorstorm, Guzzle, Breacher, and Pyro.

Anything's fatal when it comes to us.

Having flown several miles away from the base, Thunderwing transformed from his jet mode and landed at the entrance of an underground passage. He went down it and eventually ended up in a small chamber, lit by primitive torches and occupied by a single figure.

Coming to a stop before the figure, Thunderwing growled, "The experiment failed."

'So I've noticed," came the reply. "Otherwise, you'd have an army of Terrorcons following you."

The general glared. "What now then? Do I go groveling back to Megatron and provide him with a pathetic cover story?"

The figure turned and Thunderwing could make out his blue and gray color scheme in the dim light.

"Do however you please. Just as long as you keep our operations here quiet."

Thunderwing smiled mirthlessly. "Of course, Mindset. I wouldn't have it any other way. And what will you do in the meantime?"

"I will bide my time and scheme while I wait," Mindset replied. "If your services are required again, I will summon you. For the time being, you are free to go."

With a mere huff, Thunderwing turned on his heel and strode out of the chamber, his work done. Not long after he had left, the torches were suddenly extinguished and Mindset felt a cold presence fill the air.

"He knows too much," a cool, quiet voice whispered into his ear. "Powered by Dark Energon, he may be able to stop us."

"He won't," Mindset curtly replied. "You know that as well as I do."

"Do I?" the voice hissed softly. "I am risking a lot in placing my trust in you."

Mindset mentally pushed back the fear creeping up inside of him. "I've been working for you for nearly fifteen years."

"And you've been with the Decepticons for just as long. How do I know you are not playing more than one side of the coin?"

"You tell me, since you are able to contact me like this."

A shrill laugh filled his audio receptors. He would have found this uncharacteristic of his benefactor, but since he knew very little about them, he shrugged the thought off.

"Oh, you are so funny!" Returning to its colder voice, the being said, "Return to work. We shall speak again."

And so it left, leaving Mindset once more in complete solitude.

Transformers Regenerated: Unicron Saga VII, Chapter Eleven

CHAPTER ELEVEN
"Laser rifle, check. Linear blaster gun, check."

Scoop gave Roadbuster an odd look as the Wreckers armed themselves. "Do you really need absolutely everything?" he asked.

"Shut up. Shrapnel missile launchers, check."

"Wait, since when did you have more than one missile launcher."

"Since I decided to get another one," Roadbuster grunted as he adjusted his left shoulder launcher. After making sure all of his guns were ready and fully loaded, he called into his comlink, "We're ready to be dropped down, Topspin. Let 'er rip."

Soon, the Autobot transport he, Scoop, Twin Twist, Fastfix, and other Wreckers with ground alt-modes were standing on detached from the Xantium and plummeted towards the ground. The large Decepticon Bombshock took notice of them and started firing all of his armaments.

Clearly without taking into account that this particular transport was far more than meets the eye.

"Broadside," Roadbuster murmured, "when I give the word, you let loose." Then, turning to the others, he said, "On the count of three, we jump. Ready? One!'

Scoop gulped. "Er, it's an awfully long way down...."

   "Two!"

"That's never stopped us before," Fastfix muttered.

   "Three!"

At once, the Wreckers leaped from the descending transport. At the same time, Roadbuster whirled around and cried out, "Now, Broadside!"

All while still in midair, the transport began to shift and morph, eventually forming a giant robot. It then landed with a loud thud before straightening up to tower over Bombshock. Despite lacking an expressive face, the Combaticon's pure terror was clear for all to see.
*  *  *
Kup groaned as he came back online, the sound of gunfire ringing in his audio receptors. A knowing grin crossed his face. Clearly he had been able to send out the signal in time before the Insecticons knocked him out.

Craning his head, he saw the Decepticon scientists Rossum and Scalpel, the former holding a shard of Dark Energon, looking up in awe and terror at the battle taking place outside. He then looked over to see that Bulkhead and the others were awake as well, looking to him to see if he had a plan in mind.

Before he could think of one, a thought suddenly crossed his mind. Where are the Mini-Cons?

His answer soon came when a blaster bolt hit Rossum in the back. With a cry, the scientist fell forward and the Dark Energon shard flew from his hands and into a control panel near the slab Kup was restrained to. The panel sparked with energy and clamps around his wrists flung open, as did the others'.

As the seven Wreckers quickly got to their feet, Recoil and the other Mini-Cons dropped down from the ceiling, shooting down the two scientists before they could get back up.

"Wow," Scattorshot said. "How did you guys not get captured?"

"Those Insecticon things weren't very bright," Recoil said. "They thought we were normal weaponry and disregarded us."

"Talk about luck," Brainstorm muttered, looking at the battle outside. "Looks like it's time to- what was it?- wreck and rule."

Kup nodded as Recoil transformed into his gun form and landed in his hand. "Shall we, fellas?"
*  *  *
Thunderwing growled as he climbed out of the crater he had made upon landing from the Xantium's attack. Rising to his feet, he looked up to see at least two dozen Wreckers descending from the Xantium itself, shooting at Vehicons. Meanwhile, Bombshock was wrestling with an Autobot nearly twice his size. The odds were definitely not in the Decepticons' favor.

A nasty scowl contorted his face. It was clear that the Decepticons would not be the victors of this battle. There would be another day for his experiments to succeed, but today had denied him that opportunity.

Blasting off from the ground, he converted into his fighter jet form and took off, leaving behind the ruinations of his schemes.
*  *  *
Bombshock wailed as Broadside slammed his large fist into his chest, sending the upgraded Combaticon flying. The impact from his collision with the ground was strong enough to disconnect the Combaticon drone serving as his left leg to disconnect. Broadside then promptly crushed it.

As the mighty Wrecker returned his attention to Bombshock, the Decepticon commander lowered his twin back cannons over his shoulders and fired them. However, they had very little effect on Broadside, who bent down and snapped off each cannon with his hands.

It quickly came to Bombshock's realization that it was hopeless. All of the Wreckers had arrived, Thunderwing and the rest of his team had fled, and the Vehicons were all but useless. As Broadside raised his fists to finish him off, he went to the last defense he had.

   "I surrender!"

Broadside paused in mid-punch. "Eh? What was that?"

"I surrender!" Bombshock cried. "Please, don't kill me!"

The Wrecker slowly lowered his fists but kept his gaze on the Combaticon. "That right?" he said. Turning to a purple and yellow mech coming up besides him, Broadside asked him, "Do we take prisoners, Impactor?"

Impactor stared coldly at Bombshock, who, for the first time in his life, felt absolutely terrified. When the Wrecker leader opened his mouth, the Combaticon braced himself for the death sentence.

"Sure, who not? Maybe he can tell us a secret or two about what Thunderwing's been up to."

Before Bombshock could register this unexpected turn in events, Impactor motioned for two white and blue mechs to restrain him with mode locks and inhibitor claws, while also detaching the remaining Combaticon drones.

The Decepticon commander silently sighed in defeat. He almost found himself undeserving of his rank.

Transformers Regenerated: Unicron Saga VII, Chapter Ten

CHAPTER TEN
-Earlier-
Twin Twist sighed, not for the first time today, as he spun around his seat at the Xantium's navigational grid. Ever since Springer's team had completed their mission on Vector XI a solar cycle ago- and Impactor's team on Zeta VII- things had been awfully quiet for the Wreckers. Too quiet, for Twin Twist's liking.

"I bet Kup and his rookies are having the time of their life," he muttered to his brother Topspin, who sat in the pilot's seat nearby. "They get to go up against a bot like Thunderwing and we get to sit here and... twiddle our thumbs."

"For all we know, they could be getting blown to scrap," Topspin replied dryly.

Twin Twist scoffed. "Not if it's Kup's leading them. He's old enough to recount the Primal Vanguad's feats first-hand."

"I highly doubt that would preclude death. Besides, I'm sure he's led plenty of Elite Guards units that never came back all in one piece."

Twin Twist crossed his arms. "There's a first time for everything."

Suddenly, a loud beeping sound emitted from his computer. Leaning forward to look at it, he quickly saw what its cause was and why.

"Speak of the Fallen," he muttered. "If Kup's using the emergency hailing frequency, then he and the rookies must be really scrapped."

"Well," Topspin said as he got ready to hail the others to the bridge, "what else would you expect from Wreckers?"
-Now-
   Dark Energon.

No one knew the origins of the volatile substance. Found in the deep mines of Kaon shortly before the First Great War began, some referred to it as the Great Devourer's Blood and began to rave about Cybertron's inevitable apocalypse. Being a scientist, Thundering had never been interested in such ravings, but was intrigued by the reported effects of the substance.

It was because of this interest that he had fell in with Trannis' initial group of followers and became one of the first Decepticons. Unfortunately for him however, Thunderwing had never been able to climb through the ranks high enough to handle the substance and by the time he had, most of the Dark Energon had been used up.

Most of it, that is. Not all.

Standing over the well-known Autobot veteran Kup, Thunderwing brought out a shard of Dark Energon and admired it for a moment. If only Trannis knew what I know now, he thought. Maybe then we would have won the war in the first place.

He then raised the shard and plunged it into his chest. His scarlet eyes flared violet and small purple flames began to erupt all around his body. The power that now surged through him was beyond belief. He felt as if he could usurp Megatron and conquer Cybertron with one hand.

"Er, general?" Rossum said tentatively. "How do you, uh, feel?"

"Wonderful!" Thunderwing exclaimed. "I feel like I can crush the Autobots with a mere gesture!"

Airachnid smirked. "Then perhaps we have no further use for these Autobots."

He scowled. "My power may have increased, Arachnicon, but my ego has not. I know that I am not infallible and so I shall continue with the experiment."

However, as he brought out another shard to stab Kup with, he heard a low but audible hum, sounding as if it was coming from outside the base.

To quiet to be a volcano eruption, he thought. In fact, it sounds like it's coming from above....

At that moment, the ceiling was suddenly torn apart by the force of friction cannons. When the storm of rubble and dust cleared, a ship colored in red and white was in clear view, its silver insignia gleaming in the sunlight.

Thunderwing snarled. "The Xantium. And just how did the other Wreckers find us?"

Not waiting for an answer, the general activated the thrusters on the bottom of his feet, propelling himself upwards to become level with the bridge of the ship.

"You've wasted your time coming here, Impactor!" he called out. "Unless you came here to die, you will find no victory on Styx. I have already infused myself with Dark Energon and plan to do the same with your fellow Wreckers! Unless you are willing to kill your own teammates, you might as well leave."

No response came. The Xantium was still and silent, save for the low hum of its engines.

Thunderwing smirked. "What's the matter? Cyber-cat catch your-"

This time, the response was in the form of a friction cannon firing.
*  *  *
Rossum, Airachnid, and Scalpel watched as their commander was sent flying by the Xantium's attack. Rossum in particular noticed the shard of Dark Energon which Thunderwing had been carrying fall from his grasp and end up right at his feet.

As he bent down to pick it up, Rossum heard Airachnid say, "So what now? Do we unleash the backup weapon we had in mind?"

"I suppose now is as good a time as any," Rossum said, bringing out the remote control. "It will nonetheless be a remarkable moment in advancing Decepticon technology."

"Indeed," Airachnid said. "In that case, I'll be taking my leave."

Rossum and Scalpel gave her incredulous looks. "What?"

The Arachnicon smirked. "At this point, I doubt Thunderwing will be needing the services of my Insecticons. If he survived that little blast, tell him that I wish him the best of luck."

Before the other two could protest, Airachnid converted into her helicopter form and flew off. Cursing quietly, Rossum turned back to the control.

"Some people simply do not appreciate...." He activated the control and the ground started to tremble. Soon, a large shape began to emerge in the distance, standing taller than an average Cybertronian but a head or so shorter than the Omega Guardians of legend. Colored in green, silver, and shades of brown, it bolstered with artillery, with two long cannons jutting from its back and several guns dominating its arms.

His red visor gleaming, the titanic Decepticon spoke. "Bombshock reporting for duty. Give me the target and I'll obliterate it."

Rossum smiled. "Then here is your target: the Xantium."

Transformers Regenerated: Unicron Saga VII, Chapter Nine

CHAPTER NINE
After mowing down the Vehicon troopers that they encountered in the corridors leading to the prison sector, the seven Wreckers finally reached the prisons and blasted down the door, rushing in with their weapons, ready to bring down any guards inside.

However, there were none. And pretty much all of the cells were empty.

Crosshairs frowned. "I've got a bad feeling about this."

"Quiet," Kup said as he stepped into the cell block. "Mindset's bound to be here."

The Wreckers slowly and cautiously began to walk down the row of cells, looking into each one only to find it empty. After about five minutes, they finally reached the end of the room with the hundredth cell, with absolutely no sign of Mindset, or anyone for that matter.

"Maybe they're holding him someplace else," Flareup said. "A less obvious place."

"Am I the only one here who thinks this is a trap?" Scattorshot asked. "Because it really feels like-"

Before he could finish, a bolt of lightning brushed past him and hit the floor. All seven Wreckers looked up to see a large, robotic insect clinging to the ceiling.

"Watch your step, Autobots, Autobots," it chirped. "You wouldn't want to get struck by lightning, lightning!"

As the Wreckers raised their Targetmaster weapons, Crosshairs contorted his face in disgust. "What the Pit is that?"

"We are Insecticons," cackled a second voice as another insect zipped over them. "We are just the start of our race's next stage of evolution."

"More like devolution," Kup muttered. "What do you want from us?"

"It depends," said a third voice. "On a scale of one to ten, how willing are you to surrender?"

"Negative five, ya bug freaks," Bulkhead said. "I hope you guys are ready to get scrapped!"

All three Insecticons laughed harshly. "Bold words, Autobot, Autobot," the first, echoing voice said. "Let's see if you can live up to them, them."

At once, the Insecticons leaped from their places and lunged at the Wreckers. The flying one transformed into robot mode and fired a spinning blade from its Gear Shredder at Kup. It scratched the veteran's arm, causing him to released Recoil from his grip and fall to his knees.

Bulkhead came to his leader's aid by charging towards the Insecticon and slamming his wrecking mace into the black and purple bug's chest, sending him flying into the wall. Before Bulkhead could help Kup up to his feet, the green giant was suddenly hit in the back by an energy bolt, which was powerful enough to bring him down as well.

Just as the second Insecticon was about to fire another bolt from the pair of pincers on his back, Flareup fired at him with her crossbow and Firebolt at the same time. The bug responded by raising his right hand and zapping her with a low-pulse bolt, putting her into a slight daze. The Insecticon then began to crackle with energy all around his body before releasing it in one large blast.

The wave was large enough to make contact with everything in the room: the Wreckers, the other two Insecticons, the cell doors... everything was either pushed back or torn apart by the small storm that had been unleashed.

When it had all settled, the tall Insecticon flier shrieked, "Shrapnel, you idiot! You could have killed us all!"

"But I didn't and wasn't intending to, Kickback, Kickback!" the echoing one retorted. "I can control my powers, you know, know."

"Whatever," Kickback growled. "Bombshell, use your cerebro-shells to incapacitate them!"

The third and largest of the Insecticons nodded and lowered a turret on his head. Aiming at Crosshairs, it fired a tiny bullet which lodged itself into the Autobot's forehead. His mouth falling agape, the Wrecker became immobile, rooted to the ground.

Before the others could comprehend what had happened, Bombshell proceeded to perform the same attack on Seaspray, Flareup, and Scattorshot. Brainstorm fumbled for Spoilsport only to be rendered motionless as well. Bulkhead followed in quick succession and soon, only Kup remained.

As the three Insecticons stood over him, he scowled at them. "What are you waiting for? Why not just end it and kill us?"

Kickback grinned. "Oh, no. General Thunderwing has plans for you and your pals."

Kup raised an eyebrow. "Wait... Thunderwing knew we were coming?"

"Perhaps, perhaps," Shrapnel said. "But that is none of our concern, concern."

"Indeed," Bombshell said as he aimed his turret. "I suppose we shall all find out in due time."
*  *  *
The Insecticons had succeeded in their task. The Wreckers were now captured.

Thunderwing slowly strode down the corridor leading to the lab, followed by Airachnid, Scalpel, and Rossum. The latter, as always, was rambling insistently with his scientific jargon, but the general paid him little heed. He had plenty of other things on his mind.

"Why these Autobots?" Airachnid had asked him earlier when the Wreckers had been initially captured. "Why not someone more experienced like Impactor or Grimlock?"

"Because," Thunderwing had replied, "if these experiments fail, we would not have wasted a valuable subject."

The said experiment which he was about to perform on the captured Wreckers was to be unlike anything he and his crew had ever done. It had nothing to do with mutations or combinations. No, this was something more.

Coming to a stop before the lab's closed door, Thunderwing turned to face the others, promptly silencing Rossum's chatter.

"Airachnid, do you have the substance?"

The Arachnicon smirked, holding up a safely-sealed container.

"Rossum, do you have the control?"

The blue and orange-red scientist nodded, holding up a small remote.

Thunderwing then grinned. "Looks like we're all set. Shall we, my friends?"

With that, he turned and opened the door, striding into the lab where the seven, unconscious Wreckers were being held. He held out his hand, which Airachnid placed the container in, and he opened it. His golden face gleamed in the violet light of the substance within.

The general chuckled. "And so begins the evolution."

Transformers Regenerated: Unicron Saga VII, Chapter Eight

CHAPTER EIGHT
"I must admit, kid," Kup said to Crosshairs. "For an escape plan, this one wasn't half bad."

"Even though we're now cornered by Decepticons?"

"I didn't say it was perfect."

Crosshairs grimaced as he fired at a Vehicon trooper. At first, the plan had been going smoothly: the captured Mini-Cons had used their weapon forms to blast open their cage and free the Wreckers from their restraints. Then, once Kup and the others were back online, they made their way out of the lab, carrying Recoil and the rest as weapons, and set off to find Mindset.

Then they ran into a bunch of Decepticons down a corridor. Figures.

Carrying the Mini-Con Haywire in gun form, Scattorshot shot down two more Vehicons before switching to his arm-mounted cannon barrel to dispatch a trooper of the Eradicon model. Just as he was about to fire at another Vehicon, his face fell as he saw an unmistakable figure approaching them.

"Aw, frag," he muttered. "It's Lugnut and his ilk again."

"Good thing we've got extra firepower then," said Flareup, carrying Firebolt's gun form in one hand and her crossbow in the other. "Let's see that Decepti-fem try to out-sharpshoot me now."

"Now don't get all happy-go-lucky on me, kid," Kup snapped. "We ain't out of the woods yet."

The firefight went on for nearly a half-hour, with neither side getting any closer to gunning down the other. It soon became clear that neither side was willing to relent, and the Wreckers' Mini-Con companions were running low on ammo.

"Well, that does it," Brainstorm said as he released Spoilsport from his grasp. He then reached behind his back and brought out a round object. "I was hoping I wouldn't have to use this- and it probably won't work anyway- but it's all we've got."

   "What is that?" Seaspray asked.

"A prototype bomb," Brainstorm replied. "This is gonna be the first time I've ever tested it, so if I were you guys, I'd stand back and expect the worse."

He then reeled his arm back and threw the bomb.
*  *  *
   "Get down!" Treadshot cried.

The Decepticons dived for cover as a round, gold bomb flew threw the air and landed right in front of them. They all braced for the explosion... and nothing happened. The panicked Decepticons looked at the object bemusedly before all bursting out in laughter.

"Oh, that's just rich," Oil Slick said. "They throw us a bomb as a last resort and don't even press it to set it off!"

"I'll say," Treadshot said, picking up the dud bomb. "What say we give them a taste of their own medicine?"

However, as he pressed the bomb, Treadshot suddenly felt... strange. The whole world seemed to warp around him, becoming surreal. He looked and saw that the others appeared to be just as confused as he was.

"Does any one else here feel... weird?"

   "Yeah," Dropshot murmured. "Kind of."

"Me too," Oil Slick said. "Its almost as if this- all of this- is some sort of... I dunno, play?"

Nightracer nodded. "Like our every action is being dictated by someone else, even the very words we speak. It's like we're all characters in a story."

"Yeah, exactly," Treadshot said. "And it's an ongoing story, which ours is in the middle of and won't have much impact on events to come."

"It's a sign," Lugnut murmured. "Lord Megatron is beckoning us to return to him, to abandon Thunderwing and his insane machinations."

"That... surprisingly makes sense," Oil Slick said. "All in favor of ditching our general?"

The others said aye in unison, Lugnut being the most enthusiastic.

"Then what are we waiting for?" Dropshot asked. "Let's get off this rock."
*  *  *
"Well, that was... awkward," Flareup said as she and the others watched the Decepticons leave the battle.

Kup turned to Brainstorm and raised a skeptical eyebrow. "What kind of bomb was that, anyway?"

"A meta-bomb," the inventor replied. "It makes the victim think they're in someone else's narrative and thus lose the will to fight. I'm surprised it worked as well as it did."

"Then we'd better get a move on before it wears off," Seaspray said. "Where could Mindset be anyway?"

"Most likely in the prison complex," Kup said. "This wouldn't be a Decepticon base if it didn't have one. Let's go."
*  *  *
"Mayhem Attack Squad has fled, sir."

Those had been the hapless Vehicon's last words before Thunderwing swiftly executed him for delivering the bad news. His talon fingers bloodied with energon, the general snarled as he turned to one of the command center's security cameras. The seven Wreckers were well on their way towards the prison complex, leaving trails of scrapped Decepticons in their wake.

Thunderwing clenched his fists. This endeavor was quickly calling for drastic measures.

   "Kickback! Shrapnel! Bombshell!"

The three Insecticons came at once, descending from the ceiling while chattering in their unique language.

"Our Autobot guests are making their way towards the prison complex," Thunderwing informed them. "All of the Mayhem Attack Squad, save for Bombshock, have fled from Styx, leaving it you to handle them."

The tall and lanky Kickback chuckled. "Who needed those guzzlers anyway? The Insecticons will get the job done."

Thunderwing smirked. "That remains to be seen. Go."

Once the Insecticons had left, Thunderwing turned and opened a comlink channel to Rossum and Scalpel, who had taken Bombshock to the secondary lab.

   "Report."

"Ze subject iz almost ready!" Scalpel replied. "Ze drones are vunctioning properly."

The general smiled. "In that case, be ready to unleash him when I give the signal."
