Transformers Regenerated: Unicron Saga VII, Chapter Eleven

CHAPTER ELEVEN
"Laser rifle, check. Linear blaster gun, check."

Scoop gave Roadbuster an odd look as the Wreckers armed themselves. "Do you really need absolutely everything?" he asked.

"Shut up. Shrapnel missile launchers, check."

"Wait, since when did you have more than one missile launcher."

"Since I decided to get another one," Roadbuster grunted as he adjusted his left shoulder launcher. After making sure all of his guns were ready and fully loaded, he called into his comlink, "We're ready to be dropped down, Topspin. Let 'er rip."

Soon, the Autobot transport he, Scoop, Twin Twist, Fastfix, and other Wreckers with ground alt-modes were standing on detached from the Xantium and plummeted towards the ground. The large Decepticon Bombshock took notice of them and started firing all of his armaments.

Clearly without taking into account that this particular transport was far more than meets the eye.

"Broadside," Roadbuster murmured, "when I give the word, you let loose." Then, turning to the others, he said, "On the count of three, we jump. Ready? One!'

Scoop gulped. "Er, it's an awfully long way down...."

   "Two!"

"That's never stopped us before," Fastfix muttered.

   "Three!"

At once, the Wreckers leaped from the descending transport. At the same time, Roadbuster whirled around and cried out, "Now, Broadside!"

All while still in midair, the transport began to shift and morph, eventually forming a giant robot. It then landed with a loud thud before straightening up to tower over Bombshock. Despite lacking an expressive face, the Combaticon's pure terror was clear for all to see.

Kup groaned as he came back online, the sound of gunfire ringing in his audio receptors. A knowing grin crossed his face. Clearly he had been able to send out the signal in time before the Insecticons knocked him out.

Craning his head, he saw the Decepticon scientists Rossum and Scalpel, the former holding a shard of Dark Energon, looking up in awe and terror at the battle taking place outside. He then looked over to see that Bulkhead and the others were awake as well, looking to him to see if he had a plan in mind.

Before he could think of one, a thought suddenly crossed his mind. Where are the Mini-Cons?

His answer soon came when a blaster bolt hit Rossum in the back. With a cry, the scientist fell forward and the Dark Energon shard flew from his hands and into a control panel near the slab Kup was restrained to. The panel sparked with energy and clamps around his wrists flung open, as did the others'.

As the seven Wreckers quickly got to their feet, Recoil and the other Mini-Cons dropped down from the ceiling, shooting down the two scientists before they could get back up.

"Wow," Scattorshot said. "How did you guys not get captured?"

"Those Insecticon things weren't very bright," Recoil said. "They thought we were normal weaponry and disregarded us."

"Talk about luck," Brainstorm muttered, looking at the battle outside. "Looks like it's time to- what was it?- wreck and rule."

Kup nodded as Recoil transformed into his gun form and landed in his hand. "Shall we, fellas?"

Thunderwing growled as he climbed out of the crater he had made upon landing from the Xantium's attack. Rising to his feet, he looked up to see at least two dozen Wreckers descending from the Xantium itself, shooting at Vehicons. Meanwhile, Bombshock was wrestling with an Autobot nearly twice his size. The odds were definitely not in the Decepticons' favor.

A nasty scowl contorted his face. It was clear that the Decepticons would not be the victors of this battle. There would be another day for his experiments to succeed, but today had denied him that opportunity.

Blasting off from the ground, he converted into his fighter jet form and took off, leaving behind the ruinations of his schemes.

Bombshock wailed as Broadside slammed his large fist into his chest, sending the upgraded Combaticon flying. The impact from his collision with the ground was strong enough to disconnect the Combaticon drone serving as his left leg to disconnect. Broadside then promptly crushed it.

As the mighty Wrecker returned his attention to Bombshock, the Decepticon commander lowered his twin back cannons over his shoulders and fired them. However, they had very little effect on Broadside, who bent down and snapped off each cannon with his hands.

It quickly came to Bombshock's realization that it was hopeless. All of the Wreckers had arrived, Thunderwing and the rest of his team had fled, and the Vehicons were all but useless. As Broadside raised his fists to finish him off, he went to the last defense he had.

   "I surrender!"

Broadside paused in mid-punch. "Eh? What was that?"

"I surrender!" Bombshock cried. "Please, don't kill me!"

The Wrecker slowly lowered his fists but kept his gaze on the Combaticon. "That right?" he said. Turning to a purple and yellow mech coming up besides him, Broadside asked him, "Do we take prisoners, Impactor?"

Impactor stared coldly at Bombshock, who, for the first time in his life, felt absolutely terrified. When the Wrecker leader opened his mouth, the Combaticon braced himself for the death sentence.

"Sure, who not? Maybe he can tell us a secret or two about what Thunderwing's been up to."

Before Bombshock could register this unexpected turn in events, Impactor motioned for two white and blue mechs to restrain him with mode locks and inhibitor claws, while also detaching the remaining Combaticon drones.

The Decepticon commander silently sighed in defeat. He almost found himself undeserving of his rank.
