INTRODUCTION
In the hopes of inspiring our young knights in the uncertain times we have found ourselves in following what befell us on Ossus, I have taken it upon myself to delve deeper into the Order's history. In particular, I have drawn up select tales of Jedi who defended the Republic during the war against the Sith Empire from 4296 to 4340 C.R.C. I implore you to pass on these stories to our students so that they may find hope in these dark times.
Barsen'thor: Warden of the Order
The term Barsen'thor comes from the Cerean language and was coined by Jedi Master Ky-Lisi-Merr thousands of years before the Great Galactic War. She bestowed it on her apprentice Lorjan Sakku posthumously after he sacrificed his life to redeem his brother Lyhesh after a poisoning incident had driven him mad. Even long after Ky-Lisi herself had passed, the Jedi Council retained the ceremonial rank and would go on to pass the title to exceptional Jedi of the Order.
The second Jedi to bear the title of Barsen'thor was awarded the title during the final years of the Hundred-Year Darkness. Pyrr-Vara was a Cathar Jedi Master who had once been peers with the very same Dark Jedi she would be forced to fight against. During the conflict, the Jedi Council commissioned the construction of a secret prison out on the edge of Wild Space to retain captured Dark Jedi who were deemed too dangerous to be held anywhere else in the galaxy. Pyrr-Vara volunteered to serve as warden for this secret prison and was subsequently bestowed the title of Barsen'thor for her exceptional skill in apprehending half of the prison's initial retinue.
The third and last known bearer of the Barsen'thor rank was a Mirialan named Tylos Harn. Trained in the ways of the Force by Jedi Master Yuon Par, Tylos walked the path of a Jedi Consular and eventually attained the rank of Jedi Knight. Along with his companions, Tylos ended the plague of the Sith Lord Vivicar and uncovered a plot surrounding the "Children" of the Sith Emperor. For his efforts, Tylos was awarded the rank of Jedi Master and a seat on the Jedi High Council. Eventually, Tylos Harn would pass and his body would be entombed in the Crystal Canyons of Chandrila.

The Hero of Tython
I list this entry not because I consider it the least important -- far from it, in fact -- but because the amount of research and theorizing I was forced to put into it. The discoveries I have made regarding this figure took me by surprise, not only by what this single Jedi Knight ended up becoming... but what she had once been.
To understand what I mean, I must start from the beginning. The first known individual of the Larisa bloodline was a Jedi Knight named Nova Larisa. A Sephi from Thustra, Nova was a member of the Jedi Crusaders and participated in the Mandalorian Wars. Following the Battle of Malachor V, she joined Darth Revan's Sith Empire before ruling over a faction of Sith on Korriban after the defeat of Darth Malak. When Revan led a strike team to eliminate the remnants of his Empire, he dueled Nova and eventually struck her down.
The Larisas were shaken by their daughter's death and would go on to resent the Jedi for their actions, never acknowledging Nova's own as a Sith. Naturally, one would think this would be where the story of the Larisas and the Jedi would end... except for the fact that, in 4334 C.R.C., a young woman by the name of Larisa arrived at the Jedi Temple on Tython.
The Jedi Council at the time never seemed to have made any connection and, indeed, I merely assumed the shared name was merely coincidental as Larisa was, by all appearances, human. However, upon uncovering accounts from those who knew her best -- such as her apprentice Kira Carsen -- it would appear that Larisa also had Sephi ancestry in her blood and bore noticeably pointed ears.
Before I go any further regarding this connection, allow me to delve into Larisa's own history. Born on Deralia, Larisa had no family to call her own as her parents had been killed by pirates shortly after her birth. The Jedi Knight who rescued her, who only knew her name as it was sewn into the blanket she was wrapped in, brought her to the Jedi Enclave on Haashimut, where she was raised as a Jedi Initiate.
At the age of twenty-two, Larisa arrived at the Jedi Temple on Tython and became apprenticed to Jedi Master Orgus Din. After bringing an end to the Flesh Raiders' uprising, Larisa was elevated to the rank of Jedi Knight and went on to combat much larger threats, from Sith Lords to Emperor Vitiate himself. In the end, with the help of her companions, Larisa vanquished the Sith Emperor and brought the Empire to its knees.
After being named the Hero of Tython, Larisa went on to bring together an alliance between the Republic and the Empire as they dealt with the threat of a resurrected Revan and his cult. When the Eternal Empire struck, Larisa was captured and frozen in carbonite by Prince Arcann. After being freed by her allies five years later, Larisa formed an Alliance to combat the threat of the Eternal Empire, eventually bringing an end to Vitiate once and for all.
While I have yet to gather a comprehensive list of all of Larisa's exploits, I have taken the time to dig into her family's history. The local Sephi on Thustra were helpful enough in my efforts and it is thanks to them that I discovered that Nova Larisa did in fact have a child at some point before the end of the Mandalorian Wars. This child was kept hidden from the Order on Thustra and continued the bloodline after her death at Revan's hands.
This naturally brings the child's full parentage into question. It... should be noted that Nova was said to be... particularly close to Jedi Kalon Soral, whom the Order now knows to be the Sith Lord Darth Vorath. I am not saying with any conclusiveness that Kalon was the father of this child, but I nonetheless feel that it is worth mentioning. In any case, it is more than likely that the Hero of Tython is descended from this child and thus is related to Nova Larisa.
I will continue my research on this matter and will supply the Council with any further findings.
