CHAPTER NINE
After finding the dying Seeker, Livewire, Swerve, and Jolt had continued their trek down the Titan's passage. The further they went, Swerve noticed that the passage was growing wider and wide, and he even saw the impression of buildings hiding in the walls' infrastructure.
When he said as much as Jolt, the other Autobot replied, "Well, these guys were the vessels of the Knights of Cybertron. They had to live somewhere."
"Yeah, but why make so many?" Swerve asked. "If the Firstforged numbered just as many as us, give or take a few hundred thousand, they'd only need three Titans at the most. I mean, we're basically taking a stroll through Iacon!"
Livewire suddenly brought them to a halt, shushing them at the same time. "I heard something," she whispered. "Something like... footsteps."
"Maybe it's Azimuth and the others," Swerve suggested.
Livewire shook her head. "It's more like... marching."
"Maybe it's the Knights! I bet you it's the Knights."
The sound of marching grew louder as its source finally came into view, emerging from the darkness ahead of the group.
"No, it's not the Knights," Jolt murmured. "It's an army of Guardian drones."
Swerve's face fell. "Aw, frag. That totally-"
An electromagnetic pulse from one of the droids cut Swerve off before he could finish.

Perceptor awoke to find himself in a strange dark room, illuminated only by an eerie green light. He tracked the source of the light to a large, glowing metal sphere on the opposite side of the room. Azimuth was standing before it with her back to him.
"You're awake," Azimuth said without looking at him. "Good, because I don't want you to miss this."
"What's going on, Azimuth?" Perceptor demanded, getting to his feet. "Where are we?"
"We are inside Prometheus' head." Azimuth gestured at the glowing sphere. "This is his brain module. Once I perform the proper procedures, he will be able to control all of the remaining Titans."
"Azimuth, please stop this!" Glyph cried, lying near Perceptor. "The legends say that Prometheus is the 'Fallen Titan.' They say that he resents Cybertron for what his brothers did to him. He'll destroy Cybertron!"
"So I shall, little girl."
The thunderous voice echoed throughout the chamber, nearly causing it to tremble. Azimuth, Perceptor, and Glyph all looked towards the brain module, for it was the only part of Prometheus they could see.
"Indeed, for eons have I dreamed of crushing the petty world that birthed my progenitors. And now, thanks to Azimuth's efforts, that day has come."
"Wait," Perceptor murmured. "So the Knights of Cybertron do indeed exist?"
"You do not deserve to know," Prometheus said coldly.
Before Perceptor to inquire further, the brain module's light suddenly went out only to re-illuminate as a red glow, rather than emerald.
"It is done," Azimuth said. "All of the Titans are now under your command."
"Excellent," Prometheus growled. "You have done most sufficiently, Azimuth. However, I require one last task of you."
The old astronomer bowed her head. "Name it."
"In order to be fully restored, I require a spark. The one from the Seeker you provided was too weak. I need one more powerful... a Point One Percenter, perhaps."
Azimuth blinked. "Well, I am a Point One Percent-"
"Then you will do nicely."
She instantly backed away from the brain module, as if realizing her mistake. "What? No! You promised me that I would witness your reclaiming of Cybertron!"
"And so you shall," Prometheus said coldly. "Through my eyes."
Before Azimuth could protest, tendrils suddenly burst from the sphere and seized her by the arms. Ignoring her screams, another tendril emerged and impaled her chest, pulling out a green, pulsing spark. As her lifeless body was dropped to the ground, Azimuth's spark was pulled into the sphere and the chamber rumbled.
"At last," Prometheus said. "After eons, I shall finally retake that which is rightfully mine. And my brothers will not stop me, for they are dead and under my power. All Cybertronians, regardless of faction, shall tremble at the sight of the last and only Titan!"
"We have to do something," Glyph whispered to Perceptor.
"I know," Perceptor murmured. "But what?"
"You will do nothing," Prometheus boomed. "You two, and your friends which Azimuth's drones have apprehended, shall all bear witness to my triumphant return."
The chamber shook violently as the Titan rose to its feet.
"Bask in the red light for now. When it is all over, you will know nothing but darkness."

He could sense his approach.
It was a faint link, but he could not mistake the aura of his fallen brother. Not long before, he had heard the cries of his slain kin, crying alongside them because he was powerless to save them. And now, the one who had caused so much death and destruction was headed here, and yet he could do nothing but wait.
The time was fast approaching in which the Matrix- the true one- would be discovered and the true Prime would send out the call.
And he would be ready to heed it.
