Star Wars Invasion: Episode II, Epilogue

EPILOGUE
Shadow watched as the stars streaked past the viewport of his ship's cockpit as it jumped into hyperspace. His failure to kill Lumiya and Carnor Jax was most unfortunate. The Watcher would not be pleased with him.

He stared at his armless shoulder. He would have to find a replacement arm in order to continue his mission, but it would be rather difficult to find a prosthetic that was compatible with Glorian biology. But he would find a way...

His ship's communications device beeped and Shadow accepted the call. Umbra's holographic figure soon appeared before him.

"Greetings, Agent Shadow. Did you succeed in tracking down Lumiya?"

"Yes, but I was...defeated before I could kill either her or her apprentice."

Umbra inclined his head in mock pity. "I am...sorry to hear that. The Watcher won't be too pleased...nor will the Emperor."

"I know," Shadow snapped. "That's why I will simply inform them that my mission is still in progress. I...will not say anything of Lumiya and her apprentice."

Umbra's eyes widened in genuine surprise. "You...you are actually going to withhold information from the Watcher? That is unwise and very risky, you know..."

"I am aware of the consequences if either the Watcher or the Emperor sees through my lie," Shadow said. "Nevertheless, I am going to take my chances. Besides, once I heal my...injuries, I will make up for my failure and deal with the two Sith."

"I see," Umbra muttered. "Well then, with that, I wish you luck. Agent Umbra, signing off."

The hologram vanished and Shadow was left alone to stare out into the seemingly endless tunnel of hypserspace, plotting his next course of action.

Stalker- having abandoned his 'Darth' title years ago- stared at the motionless body of the Nikto Jedi he had just slain. Although the Jedi Knight was skilled, his prowess in the lightsaber arts were no match for Stalker's, and he was easily killed.

Hearing the roar of the Rogue Shadow's engines as it flew overhead, the former Sith Lord assumed that Kyle Katarn and his companions had managed to escape. An unfortunate loss, but one that could be compensated.

Sitting down cross-legged besides the deceased Jedi's body, Stalker began to muse over the recent events of his life. After Darth Vorath's death nine years ago, Darth Stalker retreated from the Battle of Coruscant along with the rest of the Sith Council. However, unlike most of them, Stalker chose not to head for Korriban, knowing that the Jedi Order would find them there, and instead made a trip to the Unknown Regions.

There he found a device he had heard of in his studies of the ancient Infinite Empire; a Rakatan mindspear, which could transfer one's memories into another body. After retrieving the device, he headed for Kamino- his place of 'birth'- and threatened the Kaminoan scientists into making him a group of clone bodies. Once the bodies were finished, he had the Kaminoans use the mindspear to transfer the memories from his old, rapidly aging body, into a new, younger clone one.

Thus, Stalker realized with satisfaction, he had accomplished what Sith Lords like Darths Bane and Sidious had dreamed of; to prolong death, without needing to learn essence transfer. Of course, Stalker was unsure how effective his plan would turn out to be...but for now, it would do.

His musings were interrupted when he sensed his apprentice approach him from behind.

"Master," the apprentice began to say before Stalker cut him off with the raise of a hand.

"I am aware of their escape. Don't worry, we shall-"

"It's not that," his apprentice said. "Someone wishes to speak with you."

Stalker turned to see his crimson armored apprentice standing beside another man, who wore black and red armor with a unique mask that was vaguely reminiscent of those worn by the Mandalorian Neo-Crusaders of ancient times.

The stranger crossed his arms. "Greetings, 'Lord' Stalker. I am the Revanchist. I would like to make an offer for you..."
TO BE CONTINUED...

EPISODE III COMING IN LATE FEBRUARY/EARLY MARCH

Author's note (6/25/13)- as of now, I've changed Darth Stalker's story post-Battle of Coruscant. See Episode 5, Chapter Four for details. (Basically, just ignore the stuff about the Rakatan thingamajig)

Star Wars Invasion: Episode II, Chapter Thirteen

CHAPTER THIRTEEN
Anakin did not- or rather, could not- do anything but watch as the Revanchist attacked the horde of Glorians, spinning his violet lightsaber wildly like a propeller. The Glorians lunged at him, letting out battle cries even as they met the wrong end of the lightsaber.

Amazed by the Revanchist's speed and accuracy, Anakin almost didn't hear Commander Naar when he spoke. "He buying us time," the Iktotchi said. "Now's our chance. Let's go!"

Although briefly hesitant at first, for he was still stunned by the Revanchist's sudden appearance and rescue, Anakin finally nodded and followed Naar, Jast, and the others up the ladder that led back up into the Tosche Station. Once they were through the hatch, they ran for their parked landspeeders.

Anakin got into a speeder with Sev, Vex, Tesara, and Jast, while Naar, Kalvin, C-3PO, and the others got into the last two. Sev pulled the switch to start up the landspeeder but all he got was a loud sputter. The Sullustan muttered a curse in his native language as he slapped the dashboard. This appeared to have done the trick for the engine immediately roared to life and the landspeeder sped off with the other two close behind.

Watching the Tosche Station as it drifted further and further behind them, Anakin allowed himself a sigh of relief. If the incident on Dantooine was any indication of the Revanchist's abilities, for he certainly must have defeated all of the Glorians there in order to be here on Tatooine, then he would have no problem with fighting Zordo's forces.

At least, that's what he hoped...
*  *  *
Kyle and the young woman- who had quickly identified herself as Tahiri Veila- raced down the streets of Mos Eisley for the docking bay to which she had seen the red armored warrior was headed for with Jokar, Arek, Reeda, and Jasel in tow.

They finally reached the hangar, where the crimson warrior stood at the entrance, along with two burly Klatooinians, each one holding two of the captive soldiers. The warrior seemed to have sense Kyle and Tahiri's approach for he gave an order to one of the two brutes.

The Klatooinian released his hold on Arek and Reeda and unholstered an EE-3 carbine rifle. He unloaded half a dozen rounds, which Kyle reflexively dodged. The Jedi Master then whipped out his Bryar pistol and seared the alien's forehead with an accurately aimed plasma bolt, killing the brute.

Signaling the other Klatooinian to head into the docking bay, the armored warrior ignited his double-bladed lightsaber and charged towards Kyle. The Jedi battlemaster aimed his pistol and fired a whole round of shots at him, all which the darksider deflected easily.

Kyle then signaled Tahiri to give him her lightsaber, which the young Jedi quickly did so. Just as the warrior swung his blade at them, Kyle ignited the lightsaber and red clashed against light blue.

The two of them began dueling, each one anticipating the others' moves and parrying it accurately. It soon became apparent that the two were almost evenly matched and thus the duel was probably endless. Having no time for a pointless fight, Kyle aimed a blow at the warrior's ribs and then fired his Bryar pistol at his helmet, knocking his opponent out for the time being.

After releasing Arek and Reeda from their bounds, Kyle and Tahiri then ran into the hangar and found the second Klatooinian brute carrying Jokar and Jasel onto a modified transport of Imperial design. Noticing the two Jedi, the brute shouted something to someone in the ship, and a large Wookiee with metal armor and a cybernetic eye-patch stepped out of the ship. In his arms, the furred being carried a heavy blaster rifle, which he began firing at the Jedi.

Kyle dodged the shots, pushing Tahiri out of harm's way, and flung his lightsaber at the Wookiee, directing it with the Force so that it sliced off the barrel of the brute's rifle. The Wookiee then reached behind his back for a vibro-ax, but was stopped when Kyle Force-pushed him headfirst into the ship's hull, knocking him out cold.

Panicked by the loss of his companion, the remaining Klatooinian let go of Jokar and Jasel and ran up into the ship. However, a Force grip stopped him from going any further and the brute was thrown aside by an invisible hand.

With both of the thugs out of the way, Kyle and Tahiri ran to Jokar and Jasel's aid, releasing them from their wrist bounds.

"Thanks, Master Katarn," Jokar said. "Shall we head for Anchorhead then?"

Before Kyle could reply, Arek and Reeda ran in hurriedly into the hangar from behind them.

"That Dark Jedi-Sith-whatever guy's back up!" Arek called out. "We have to get out of here! He's right behind us!"

Kyle nodded. "All right. I hope he won't mind if we borrow his ship."

"Well, he's angry as it is anyway, so-"

"Cut the chatter!" Jokar snapped, already running onto the ship. "Get your butt into the pilot's seat, Cobalt, and get us off this blasted sandpile!"

Arek complied and ran onto the ship, followed by Reeda, Jasel, and Tahiri. Kyle was the last to get on board, lingering for a moment to see the crimson armored man run into the hangar and charge towards him. The Jedi Master hurried onto the ship and closed the boarding ramp behind him as the engines began to roar alive.
*  *  *
As the three landspeeders drove into Mos Eisley, Anakin's comlink, which he had so he could keep in touch with anyone on the team if they got separated, chimed and the Jedi Knight answered it. Kyle Katarn's voice crackled through.

"Anakin? You there? Can you hear me?"

"Loud and clear, Master Katarn," Anakin said. "Did you manage to free Commander Jokar and the others?"

"Yeah, but we have a small situation. The two Dark Jedi I mentioned earlier are chasing after us. We've stolen their ship but I think one of them has just placed a tracking beacon on it, so it's probably not a good idea to meet up with you and lead them to us."

"I agree," Anakin said. "Any ideas?"

"Well, we could get the beacon off, but we'll have to find another planet to land on."

Anakin thought for a moment before saying, "Head for Manaan. That's the next planet where Toah's signal was found and is likely to have Glorian invaders."

"What about the one's here on Tatooine?" Kyle asked.

Anakin glanced at Sev, who simply shrugged. "They're...being taken care of."

"What do you mean?"

"I'll explain some other time. The others and I will head to Kashyyyk and solve things there."

Kyle chuckled. "Sounds like a plan. Master Katarn out."

Anakin ended the connection and leaned back in his seat. He wondered that, if the Revanchist managed to defeat the Glorians back at the Tosche Station, if he would follow Anakin and the others to Kashyyyk. Or if he would follow Kyle's group to Manaan.

And if he did, would Anakin be able to get some answers from him then? Why did the Revanchist leave Dantooine? How was he able to defeat the Glorians so easily on his own?

All he could do was wonder...and hope. Hope that this adventure would be over soon.

Star Wars Invasion: Episode II, Chapter Twelve

CHAPTER TWELVE
Shadow lunged, blades raised high over his head, ready to kill Lumiya. The Sith Lady preformed a backflip just as he landed, causing the small daggers of lightning around his swords to create a small gash in the floor. Lumiya then swing her lightwhip, its flexible blade lashing out violently like a nexu's tail. Shadow bended back to avoid the whip and flung one of his blades, the shorter one, at her face.

Lumiya avoided it by crouching down, letting the blade clatter to the floor behind her. She then swept her whip to strike at Shadow's legs. Shadow leaped over it and threw a kick at her face in midair, his booted foot making contact with her temple, and the Sith Lady lost her footing.

Quickly retrieving his short blade, Shadow raised his longer one and moved in for the kill. Just as he was about to bring his blade down in a diving stab at Lumiya's back, the Sith jumped back to her feet and reactivated her weapon, whipping it over her back and striking Shadow in the shoulder.

He held in his grunt of pain and turned it into a vicious growl. Taking a step back, he allowed Lumiya to take a defensive position before taking a tremendous leap, flipping over her head and stabbing at her back. The Sith Lady dropped to the floor before his blade made contact, rolled over, and lunged, lashing out with her lightwhip.

Shadow raised his right arm, on which he had fitted the Mandalorian crushgaunt from the glove of Darth Vader and let the lightwhip's blade clash against it, leaving his arm unscathed. Lumiya recoiled from the unexpected resistance and backflipped away from Shadow, regathering her stance once she had landed. From down the corridor, she stared at him, her green eyes filled with a rather surprised look.

"I am...impressed," she muttered. "I wasn't expecting much of a fight from a non-Force user."

Shadow gave her a mirthless laugh. "You will soon realize, my lady, that sometimes a person without the Force can be stronger than who does."

Lumiya's gaze hardened. "I find that highly unlikely."

"Probability has a smaller limit than you think."

With that, Shadow readied his blades in a position to attack and charged.

Despite being located deep inside the tomb of Freedon Nadd, Carnor Jax could still hear the sounds of battle coming from one of the temple's many corridors. Getting to his feet, he grabbed his double-bladed vibrosword, which he preferred over a lightsaber, and ran out of the chamber he was in.

The further he ran, the louder the sounds of combat became. After running down at least eleven corridors, he finally found his master in the twelfth one, where she was dueling with a cloaked being wielding two blades. Taking advantage of the fact that neither of them had noticed him, Carnor silently but swiftly walked down the hallway, the bottom blade of his vibrosword poised to stab at the cloaked one's back.

Just as he was about to deliver the killing blow, the being spun around and slashed across Carnor's chest, leaving a gash in his Royal Guardsman battle armor. He staggered back and glared at the warrior, whom he was now certain was male, his emerald eyes showing no emotion from beneath his hood.

With the stranger distracted, Lumiya lashed out at him with her lightwhip. The warrior raised a short dagger and deflected the rope-like blade with it, causing it to tangle. To both Carnor and Lumiya's surprise, the stranger then grabbed the blade, letting its energy to burn into his gloved hand. He then yanked the blade and caused its hilt to fly out of Lumiya's hand and land into his. Deactivating the lightwhip, he dropped it to the floor and crushed it with the heel of his boot.

Now that the warrior's attention was partially diverted, Carnor charged towards him with his vibrosword raised high over his head. The warrior saw him coming and narrowly stepped aside as Carnor brought the blade down. The cloaked man then grabbed the beam-like hilt that connected the two blades and began wrestling it from Carnor's grasp.

With a powerful kick to the abdomen, the warrior made Carnor's grip on the weapon weaken and he easily wrenched it from his hands. The man then kicked Carnor down to the floor and aimed the bottom blade two inches from his face.

"All too easy," the warrior muttered as he raised his blade higher, ready to decapitate Carnor.

Weakened by the kick to his stomach, Carnor Jax could do nothing but close his eyes and brace for the killing blow.

The sound he expected to hear next before his death was the sound of the blade cutting through his neck. Instead, he heard the sudden snap-hiss of a lightsaber activating, it slicing through fless, and a loud, painful scream.

Carnor opened his eyes to see his would-be killer staggering away from him, clutching an armless shoulder. At his feet laid the arm in which he had held the vibrosword, burning at its severed end. Carnor then looked up and saw Lumiya standing nearby, a scarlet lightsaber in hand. The cloaked warrior glared at her, his green eyes filled with contempt.

"I thought you did not carry a standard lightsaber," he muttered.

Lumiya fixed him with a cold stare. "Even a Lady of the Sith must be prepared. And so should you."

The warrior growled. "It seems I had overestimated my chances. I shall concede and let you leave this tomb alive. But be warned..."

His emerald eyes glowed with hate. "I will not go easy on you next time."

With that, the warrior turned and headed down the corridor, vanishing at the first turn he reached. Silence then hung over the two Sith for a time, until Carnor Jax slowly got up to his feet and gave his master a questioning look.

"You...you saved me," he said quietly. "I thought that went against the ways of the Sith..."

Lumiya said nothing, instead turning in the opposite direction of their former opponent and heading back for the tomb's exit, beckoning with the Force for her apprentice to follow. Carnor Jax did so without further query.

Star Wars Invasion: Episode II, Chapter Eleven

CHAPTER ELEVEN
Kyle Katarn had never been in such a demeaning situation before in his life.

As the dark sided warrior dragged him through Mos Eisley's alleyways to who-knows-where, Kyle, his wrists bounded, attempted several times to loosen the warrior's grip on his arm with the Force, but came to no avail. And as if to add insult to the injury, he had just realized that he was missing his lightsaber. He glanced at the dark warrior and saw it hanging from the armored man's belt, along with a number of other lightsabers, probably from other Jedi he had killed.

As they moved through the spaceport, most likely heading for one of the docking bays, Kyle could have sworn he saw a shadow in the alley, looking like it was following them. But when it vanished, he assumed that Tatooine's two suns were simply playing a trick on his eyes.

Suddeny, his captor stopped. Kyle glanced at him, feeling the warrior's uneasy emotions through the Force.

"Why did you stop?" he asked the masked man casually.

The 'Dark Jedi' did not respond, instead releasing his grip on Kyle's arm and pushing him into a bunch of garbage bins. He then brought out a unique lightsaber hilt, which had four, claw-like prongs jutting out near the blade emitter. A scarlet beam of energy appeared out of the emitter, making it look like the claws were holding the blade.

The warrior then said, seemingly to no one, "I have killed many Jedi Knights during the war. Compared to some of them, you will be no challenge."

"I have seen your skills," a voice replied. Kyle looked but could not see its speaker. "A few months before the battle of Coruscant, you killed my master on Borosk."

He then heard the sound of a lightsaber igniting. "I was a simple apprentice then. Don't expect to get out of this fight so easily."

Leaping out of the shadows, from a building in the alleyway, was a male Kadas'sa'Nikto, an emerald lightsaber in his hand. The moment he landed, the masked warrior lunged, thrusting his blade forward to stab the Jedi's abdomen, but the Nikto blocked the move in time, their blades striking with a sound similar to the clash of lightning.

Stuck in an awkward position the warrior had left him in, Kyle simply watched as the two combatants dueled, their colored blades clashing and sparkling like a small firework show. He was rather impressed by the Nikto Jedi's moves, blocking and countering the darksider's attacks smoothly as if he was one step ahead of the warrior. Kyle presumed the Jedi was one of the late Morin Tharr's students, before the former Jedi battlemaster passed away.

As the duel went on, Kyle suddenly sensed movement nearby. Turning his head to the side, which was rather difficult because of his position, he saw a young, light-haired woman- probably in her early twenties- crouched down besides one of the garbage bins that surrounded him. In her hand was a light-blue lightsaber which, before Kyle could say anything, she used to severe the restraints around his wrists.

"Thanks," Kyle murmured, rubbing his wrists. "How did you two find us? And who-"

"There's no time to explain," the girl said hastily. "We have to save your friends."

Kyle winced as he got up to his feet, his arm sore from the darksider's grip. "Do you know where they are?"

She nodded. "Follow me."

"Wait," Kyle said before she could run off. "I need my lightsaber. That Dark Jedi has it."

The young woman shook her head. "There's no time. The other one is about to take off with your friends."

She then looked over her shoulder at him and smiled. "Besides, you are the great Jedi Kyle Katarn, aren't you? From what I've heard, you don't really need a lightsaber, do you?"

Kyle chuckled, patting his holstered Bryar pistol, which he had kept with him ever since his days as a mercenary. "Not if I don't want to fight fair."

"Would it be an understatement if I said that I have a bad feeling about this?" Sev asked as the Glorians began to corner him and the others. When no one responded, he sighed. "I'll take that as a 'yes.'"

Anakin gazed at the horde of Glorians, numbering up to at least three dozen, if not more. He stared at Zordo, whose eyes gleamed with malice as he slowly approached.

"Why are you doing this?" Anakin finally asked.

This caused Zordo and his friends to pause. "Why are we...?"

He then chuckled. "Ah, a very good question I must say. See, if I told you it was to simply rule the galaxy, it would be a lie. We're not here to take over your galaxy..."

The electricity around his blade made a sharp crackling sound. "We're here to fix it."

Naar gave him a questioning look. "What's that supposed to mean?" the Iktotchi commander asked.

Zordo chuckled again. "It is rather difficult to put into words that you would understand. Would you like me to show you instead?"

"You will do no such thing."

Anakin turned around and gasped. Standing behind him and the others, right beside Jast near the ladder leading up to the Tosche Station above, was the Revanchist, a violet lightsaber in his hand. Anakin felt the Revanchist's cold gaze upon him through the masked man's visor. When he spoke, it chilled all but the Glorians, who remained emotionless.

"You should not have come, Anakin," the Revanchist said.

The young Jedi Knight stuttered. "I-I thought you were staying on Dantooine..."

The Revanchist ignored him and shifted his gaze to Zordo and the Glorians. "I will give you one chance to surrender."

Zordo's eyes glowed with contempt. "Glorians never surrender."

"Very well." The Revanchist raised his lightsaber, its violet blade sizzling simultaneously with the crackling of the Glorian's electric blade.

"Then I have no choice but to kill you all."

Star Wars Invasion: Episode II, Chapter Ten

CHAPTER TEN
Carnor Jax sat before the altar that housed the sarcophagus of the Dark Lord Freedon Nadd, his legs crossed in a meditative pose. Looming over him and the altar was a tall statue carved in the ancient Dark Lord's likeness. The sculpture's cold, expressionless eyes seemed to bore into Jax's, but the Sith apprentice managed to avert his gaze.

Taking a deep breath, Jax closed his eyes and allowed himself to fall into the Force. Two days ago, his master had brought him here to Dxun so he could delve into the ancient teachings of the old Sith, just as they had done earlier on Yavin 4, exploring the tombs of Naga Sadow and Exar Kun.

He began to wonder where and how his master had learned of these ancient Sith Lords and the worlds connected to them. He knew that Palpatine and Darth Vader couldn't have, for they were bound to the Rule of Two. Could Darth Vorath have taught her? But then why did he not bring her into his Sith Order like he had the former Dark Jedi Jerec?

Jax cleared his thoughts. That was not of his concern. Lumiya was his master. It did not matter how she came across her knowledge, as long as she passed it on to him when it was required of her to do so. And perhaps, one day, he would have enough knowledge to overthrow her and continue the cycle of the Rule of Two.

One day, he thought. Yes.

But not today.
*  *  *
Lumiya walked through one of the many corridors within Freedon Nadd's tomb, the sound of her boots hitting the stone floor echoing throughout the chamber. All around her, she could feel the dark side of the Force radiate from the walls of the tomb. She could feel the faint presence of those who had once walked through the very hallway she now went through. Ever Darth Bane himself had once walked in her footsteps.

With each step she took, Lumiya hoped to disturb a slumbering ghost, one of a Sith, so she could gather more knowledge than even a holocron could grant her. But deep down she knew that was highly unlikely, for Freedon Nadd's spirit was banished into Chaos more than four thousand years ago.

At the same time, she could not help but ask herself, Is it worth doing this? Is it worth retracing the steps of all of the Dark Lords before me- including Bane, Palpatine, and Vorath- only to ultimately fail?

Perhaps it was not...and perhaps it was.

Perhaps instead of using the knowledge of past Sith Lords to ultimately rule the galaxy, she could instead the use the knowledge...to balance it.

It was said that Anakin Skywalker brought back balance to the Force by killing Palpatine and putting an end to his machinations and regime. With the demise of Darth Sidious and the fall of the Order of the Sith Lords, it was believed that the Sith- and evil itself- had been purged for good.

Until Darth Vorath revealed himself, and the Imperial Sith War followed in his wake.

Because of this, Lumiya, as well as the Jedi Order, was beginning to doubt whether Anakin truly was the Chosen One. When his son Luke sacrificed himself to help defeat Vorath, those doubts seemed to have had faded.

But Lumiya still wondered, what exactly was the balance of the Force? Was it truly purging the dark side of the Force? Or was it an equal balance of both dark and light?

Since Anakin's sacrifice clearly did not completely restore balance, Lumiya believed it was the latter theory. She would try building a Sith order large and powerful enough as the Jedi Order. But instead of living together in endless conflict, they would live in relative, quiet peace.

Peace is a lie, said a voice in her head, echoing the tenants of the Sith Code. There is only passion.

"Yes," she whispered back. "But since when did even passion give us absolute victory?"

"And since when did peace become the answer to everything?"

Lumiya spun on her heels to see a tall humanoid male standing at the end of the hall behind her, covered in an ebony cloak, its hood concealing his face.

"I knew I would find you here," the stranger said, his voice as cold as the tomb's stone walls. "Sith always tend to revisit the same places."

Lumiya's hand hovered towards the hilt of her lightwhip, which hung from her waist. "And who might you be?"

"Does my identity matter? It's not as if you're going to live long enough to remember it." The stranger gave a nonchalant shrug. "But I suppose I will give you a name, so that, in the last few moments of your life, you will know who had killed you.

"My name is Shadow."

He seemed to notice Lumiya reaching for her lightwhip for he then chuckled. "Ah, yes. I have heard of your unique lightwhip. Quite a rare weapon, having not been sighted at least since the days of the Clone Wars."

"Indeed," Lumiya muttered, eying the man carefully as she removed the lightwhip from her belt. "How do you know of the lightwhip? Are you a Jedi?"

Shadow shook his head. "I am not a Jedi...and I am definitely not a Sith."

"Then what are you? Are you from another Force-using organization? The Jensaarai, perhaps? The Prophets of the Dark Side?"

The cloaked man let out a chilling laugh. "I am none of those things yet more."

From behind his cloak, he pulled out two swords, one long, the other short. Both crackled with blue, electric energy. In response, Lumiya activated her lightwhip, it's long, flexible, yellow blade emitting from the hilt like a serpent's tongue. As she readied herself in a defensive position, she saw Shadow's emerald eyes with malice as he spoke.

"I am Death."
