ARMY OF REVENGE
(Opens up in space over Cybertron. The Elite Guard's ship returns to the Transformer homeworld while Ultra Magnus narrates)
Ultra Magnus: I am Ultra Magnus. The Wreckers, the Elite Guard, and I have arrived, ready to bring down the Decepticons. No hesitations. It ends here, right now. No turning back.
(At a Decepticon base, a "Genericon" contacts Shockwave)
Generic: Commander! Magnus' team is here!
Shockwave: Eliminate them.
(A battle breaks out between the Autobots and the Decepticons. A team of Wreckers, led by Roadbuster, lead the assault)
Roadbuster: Gosh darn 'cons ain't givin' up!
Sandstorm (quietly): I should've stayed on Paradron....
Whirl: I do have a tactical approach. [In retrospect, this is totally opposite from the Whirl we're used to.]
Roadbuster: Spit it out!
Whirl: We could have Rack'n'Ruin bombard the 'cons. Let's ust drop the payload on them.
Roadbuster: That's crazy.
Whirl: Yes, but sometimes, crazy works.
(Soon, Rack'n'Ruin carry out Whirl's plan, flying over the Decepticons with a bag of grenades)
Whirl: You two guys ready?
Rack'n'Ruin: Ready, Whirl!
(The fused Wreckers release the grenades)
Generic #2: Huh? Oh, slag....
(The bombs go off, decimating the Decepticon forces)
Whirl: See, it wasn't that crazy.
Roadbuster: Shut up.
(Elsewhere, the Herald speaks with one of his subordinates)
Herald: Are we ready?
Subordinate: Affirmative.
Herald: Excellent.
(Back on Cybertron....)
Roadbuster: Magnus, this is Roadbuster. The Decepticons are-
(He suddenly stops as a portal opens in front of him)
Roadbuster: Holy AllSpark....
(Stepping through the portal is the Herald and his minions)
Herald: Well... this shall be fun.
Roadbuster: Wait... weren't you on Nebulos when we helped Grand Convoy's team?
Herald: Yes, I was. I am the one who killed Grand Convoy. I am the one who preceded the Decepticons. I am MEGAZARAK!
(At that moment, Ultra Magnus arrives)
Ultra Magnus: Stop! I am Ultra Magnus, commander of-
(Megazarak shoots the Elite Guard commander)
Ultra Magnus: Oof!
Megazarak: I don;t have time for this. Attack!
(Megazarak's minions transform and move out)
(On Earth, at the Ark, Ratchet approaches a forlorn Optimus Prime)
Ratchet: Optimus? I mean, I know killing isn't your virtue. But it was Megatron! If you spared him, his tyranny would continue to spread.
Prowl: Ratchet's right, Prime. You had no choice.
(While Optimus mulls over these words, Ultra Magnus' visage appears on a viewscreen)
Ultra Magnus: Prime, this is Magnus! We're under heavy fire!
(Optimus then flashes back to a scene with the Council of Ancients speaking to him) [Random, I know]
Gravitas: We have faith in you, Optimus. You must light our darkest hour.
(Returning to the present, Optimus finally speaks)
Optimus Prime: Jazz, Wheeljack, get this ship running. We're going to kick some tailpipe.
Jazz: That's my groove! [Wait, wasn't Jazz with the Elite Guard? Continuity error!]
(In short time, the Ark takes off and heads for Cybertron. Back on said planet, Ultra Magnus and the Autobots are still fighting against Megazarak's forces)
Ultra Magnus: Keep moving! Optimus should be here soon!
???: Forget "soon", Magnus.
(How convenient; Optimus and his buddies are here)
Optimus Prime: We're here now. Autobots, roll out!
(As the Ark crew assists the others, Optimus tries to contact Jetfire, who is still with his team at the Decepticon outpost from last issue)
Optimus Prime: Jetfire, come in. Jetfire?
Jetfire: Yeah, Prime?
Optimus Prime: We need your help, now!
Jetfire: On it. Let's go!
(Jetfire and his team (minus the dead Rollout, of course) leave the outpost, carrying the Ultimo Mask with them. Meanwhile, back at the battle....)
Optimus Prime: Cliffjumper, now!
(Cliffjumper brings out a huge launcher)
Cliffjumper: This better be worth it....
(He fires a grenade from the launcher, which creates an even bigger explosion than the one Rack'n'Ruin made)
Optimus Prime: That was... different.
Wheeljack: *sniff* I am so proud....
Megazarak: Grr... Irontread, lead the Assault Squad!
Irontread: Yes, sir!
(Suddenly, Megazarak gets a... Spidey-Sense tingling when Jetfire flies over him. Realizing that the Autobot is carrying the Ultimo Mask, Megazarak transforms and pursues him)
Megazarak: Grraaah!
Jetfire: Whoa!
(The Destron leader easily snatches the mask from him)
Jetfire: Hey!
Megazarak (back in robot mode): Now, how do I free him?
Irontread: I dunno, put it on?
Megazarak: Yes... maybe I can channel his power!
Ultimo Mask: Yesss....
(Megazarak dons the mask and Atha Prime's spirit takes over his body. The Autobots witness this, staring in awe and horror)
Optimus Prime: Oh, Primus....
Megazarak/Atha Prime: Bow down fools... to Atha Prime!
